Role Purpose

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to work closely and co-operatively with teaching staff to support the needs of our learners.

To work closely with the Pupil Support Team and class teachers to best support our learners.

To undertake tasks, which may include helping with some or all of the following, depending on the needs of our learners:

• Communication

• Written tasks

• Use of IT

• Motor difficulties

• Understanding instructions

• Completing tasks

• Mobility

• Social Skills

• Preparation of resources/materials

• Supervision during intervals/lunch times

• Feeding and medication (after training)

To undertake support for individuals or groups as directed.

To assist in the implementation of plans as required.

To monitor on an informal basis the progress of our learners.

To contribute to reports about our learners for discussion at review and planning meetings.

To liaise with the Pupil Support Team, SLT and other agencies as required.

 

Essential

• No formal qualifications are required, but an acceptable standard of school education is desirable.

• Additional Needs Assistants will be required to undertake on the job training as and when available
