Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.
Recruitment Profile
Take responsibility for the day-to-day quality customer-focused service that delivers effective outcomes for customers using initiative, knowledge, tact and problem-solving techniques whilst making best use of the facilities and other materials and resources available.
Undertake the Registration of Electors in accordance with legislation and guidance from the Electoral Commission by issuing and processing Invitations to Register.
Monitor Electoral Digital Services (DES), processing new applications and determining records returned by the Department for Work and Pensions. Annotate and process postal, proxy and postal proxy application forms in line with legislation ensuring the accuracy of digital images.
Provide advice and guidance to electors/stakeholders on all aspects of Electoral Registration including support for elections, credit reference, eligibility (age and nationality) and ways to vote.
Assist with the delivery of electoral registration activities and events to encourage registration and raise awareness.
Essential
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. At least 5 SCE Standard Grades (or equivalent) at Level 3 or above, or equivalent, including English or equivalent relevant experience Commitment and ability to achieve an appropriate level of Customer Service qualification or SVQ level 2
