Recruitment Profile

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The postholder will: Provide first-line technical support for school iPads, peripherals, cases, keyboards, chargers and Apple School Manager/MDM-managed functions. Diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, Apple ID, Wi-Fi, and app-related issues. Prepare devices for deployment (enrolling in MDM, updating OS, applying configurations). Manage device returns, swap-outs, and pupil loans. Support staff and pupils with day-to-day operational use of iPads. Maintain accurate logs of issues, repairs, and device status. Liaise with central ICT and external repair providers where needed. Undertake routine checks to ensure devices are charged, safe, updated, and classroom-ready. Support digital safeguarding approaches in line with school policies. Assist with app deployment and licence management. Contribute to digital learning improvements and recommend workflow or process enhancements. Work professionally and confidentially in a school environment, adhering to all child-protection and data-protection requirements. Undertake training relevant to the role and keep up to date with device updates, features, and school ICT changes.

 

Essential

Proficient in Apple ecosystem, specifically Apple support and function in an educational environment. Relevant ICT, technical support, or digital-skills qualification OR demonstrable equivalent experience. Willingness to undertake training in MDM systems, Apple technologies, and digital safeguarding.
