Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver an effective, high-quality service to children and families open to a statutory social work team. You will work directly with families to promote the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people, supporting them to remain within their home and community wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You may be supporting parenting assessments alongside social workers one day, facilitating family time the next, and working directly with children and families in their homes or local communities to support agreed care plans. Key responsibilities may include: Supporting the development, implementation and review of care plans for children and young people. Assisting social workers in undertaking parenting and risk assessments. Working directly with families in their homes and communities to promote positive outcomes. Supervising and supporting family time. Contributing to assessments and plans for rehabilitation. Working with children subject to Scottish Borders Child Protection Registration and those who are Looked After and Accommodated. Managing allocated cases, as appropriate to the role. You will be part of a committed statutory team, working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure children receive the right support at the right time. This role requires resilience, empathy, strong organisational skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with children and families facing complex challenges. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families and thrive in a dynamic environment, we would welcome your application.
