Please note this is a 14.875 hours per week over a fixed 16 week rota post. Seven day working, evening and weekend - Standbys & Public/Fixed Holidays over a 16 week rolling rota.
Role Purpose
The Emergency Duty Team provides a Social Work response for all client groups across the Scottish Borders outside office hours, including weekends and Public and Fixed Holidays. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join our established team. This is a demanding but rewarding role, working with a dedicated team, responding to a wide ranging needs across the Scottish Borders local area. There are two workers on shift and one of the workers will do a sleeping standby overnight following the shift. There is always access to support from a member of the senior management team as well as good working links with partner agencies, Police & NHS in particular.
Essential
Approved qualification in Social Work e.g. DipSW
Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
