Recruitment Profile

Scottish Borders Council are looking to recruit a highly motivated, qualified Social Worker to support the provision of good outcomes for children and young people in kinship care. The Kinship Care team is a newly created team which works with kinship carers and the children they care for from assessment through to on-going emotional, practical and financial support. The team is centrally based in Galashiels and works with kinship carers throughout the Scottish Borders and those placed out with the local authority area. This opportunity offers an chance to work and develop the new Kinship Care Team from its beginning onwards.

Essential

Appropriate social work qualification at degree or diploma level (DipSW).

Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
