Role Purpose

This is a permanent 28 hour post. We also have a full time temporary post available at SBO09081.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated children and families social worker to support our children and young people, and their families to ensure good outcomes are achieved. We strive to recruit workers who are passionate about working with children and young people, and their families, and assessing and supporting their strengths to move towards better outcomes.

Essential

Approved qualification in Social Work and registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

An understanding of the key issues and relevant theoretical background particularly relating to child protection and looked after children.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
