Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Technician to support the Council’s road user group and traffic and road safety team. The successful applicant will provide technical support around road closures, events, roadworks, traffic management and particular attention to the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
Main tasks will involve liaising with public utility companies to minimise disruption to the public as much as possible, responding to customer enquiries, working with event organisers on road closures and diversion and a variety of administrative functions, ie road occupation permits and street gazetteer maintenance team.
Essential
HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or other relevant qualification or substantial comparable experience in road maintenance/asset management/design
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
