Role Purpose
An exciting opportunity has arising within Waste Services. We are looking for a Safety Compliance Officer to work in a busy operational environment working alongside management and frontline staff to safely deliver our services.
This role would ideally suit someone who is tenacious, structured, detailed and enjoys collaborating with others.
The role is 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday weeks 1 to 3 and Wednesday to Sunday every 4 week.
The successful candidate shall work alongside Waste Treatment and Waste Collection providing advice and guidance on effective health, safety and welfare management, promoting compliance with health and safety legislation, HSE and WISH. You will produce, review and revise, as required procedures, risk assessments and other Health and Safety documentation.
In addition, you will be required to work one weekend in four supervising the operational running of the Waste Treatment Community Recycling Centres, Waste Transfer Stations including any plant or vehicle operations during this time. The aspect of the role will involve where required, organising sickness cover, vehicle logistics and ensuring the sites are running as per service requirements.
This role will involve travelling to different sites within the Scottish Borders.

Essential
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent Level 3 Health & Safety Qualification
• 5 Standard Grades including English and Maths
