The Cook is responsible through the Senior Clerical Assistant for the provision of meals and snacks at Marine and Air Operations for SIC employees and Harbour Users.
Specific tasks of the Cook will include:
- The preparation, cooking and serving of food within the strict guidelines of the Cooksafe Food Safety Assurance System. This will include preparation of menus, portion control, control of hygiene, health and safety and working within a set budget.
- Keeping strict stock control records – ordering supplies when required, checking deliveries, and maintaining stock records.
- Ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen, store and all catering equipment.
- Operating a cash register and handling cash on a daily basis.
From time to time the postholder may be required to undertake duties outside those specified.
