Job Description

What is the role?

Undertake, under the general direction of the Catering Supervisor the preparation, simple cooking and serving of food.

To deliver meals, food, equipment and provisions to schools and other catering units.  Assist in any kitchen within South Ayrshire Council Facilities Management and undertake duties associated with food services.

The Grade of these posts are Grade 1 / Level 2 and the hourly rate is from £12.59 to £12.70 and the annual salary, adjusted for a term time working pattern, is as follows:

Post A - Catering Assistant (22 Hours) Tarbolton primary is from £12,406 - £12,972.

Post B - Catering Assistant/Driver (16 Hours) Forehill Primary is from £9,023 - £9,434.

Please note that these posts are temporary for 12 months.

These posts are considered to be Regulated Work with children or adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly the preferred candidates will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
