JOB DESCRIPTION

South Ayrshire is a stunning part of Scotland, offering a unique blend of coastal beauty, vibrant towns, and picturesque rural communities. With excellent road and rail connections, the area provides an outstanding place to live and work. As a Council, we are committed to delivering high‑quality education, raising attainment, and ensuring every child and young person reaches their full potential. We are driving forward an ambitious agenda for improvement and are seeking exceptional leaders to help us achieve our vision.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a proven track record in school leadership and delivering outstanding outcomes for young people. The successful candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the vision to lead Marr College into its next chapter of success, championing the school’s core values of Community, Ambition, Respect, and Equality.

Marr College is a vibrant, non‑denominational secondary school located in the heart of Troon, with a current roll of approximately 1,000 young people. The school fosters a strong culture shaped by its values: a supportive community that works together, a shared ambition for excellence, a commitment to respect in all relationships, and a belief in equality for every learner. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational leader to make a significant impact within a school and community known for its strong identity, positive partnerships, and commitment to continuous improvement.
