Job Description
What is the role?
Under the direction of the Health & Fitness Officer deliver a range of health referral-based classes inductions and health assessments.
South Ayrshire Council currently offer specialised exercise classes and support for people with health conditions.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who will consistently deliver excellent customer service.
As a Health & Fitness Instructor your job is all about communication, teamwork and customer service. We are looking people who are prepared to work hard, to drive health, fitness and rehabilitation activities across the Council and promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Your role will involve completing one to one consultations, collection of data and delivery of a variety of health and fitness classes and activities.
Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 Exercise to music, gym instructor or equivalent, with desirable NVQ Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification or NVQ Level 4 Health qualification (Cardiac, PSI, Stroke, CanRehab).

The Grade of this post is Grade 2 / Level 5, the hourly rate is from £12.76 to £13.80 and the annual salary is £13,972 to £15,111.

Accordingly the preferred candidates will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
