JOB DESCRIPTION

Home Energy Scotland (HES) is a Scottish Government-funded advice service, managed by the Energy Saving Trust, designed to help people across Scotland reduce their energy bills, cut carbon emissions, and live more sustainably. HES offers free, impartial advice to householders, community organisations, and businesses on topics such as home energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transport, and water saving. Since 2008, the Energy Agency has operated the Home Energy Scotland South West Advice Centre, supporting residents and organisations across Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. The service helps customers to make informed decisions about energy improvements, access funding and grants, and take practical steps toward a more sustainable, low-carbon lifestyle.

As a member of the HES team, the Partnerships & Outreach Officer will work collaboratively with partners, community and voluntary organisations to promote services, build effective relationships and support positive outcomes for customers.

The role will also involve researching and identifying potential new organisations, partners and community groups to develop relationships, increase engagement opportunities and expand the reach of services.

ABOUT US

The Energy Agency is a dynamic, independent charity dedicated to creating a sustainable future. We provide free, impartial and expert advice to households, businesses and communities, on energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.

Based in Ayr, we work with several local authorities to manage Scottish Government and council-funded programmes. These initiatives focus on delivering energy efficiency improvements, such as the installation of External Wall Insulation systems, to domestic properties.

Since 2008 we have operated the Home Energy Scotland advice centre for south-west Scotland. Funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust, this centre is one of five across Scotland, supporting householders to reduce energy consumption, save money and lower carbon emissions.

Beyond this, our work extends to educating future generations through energy lessons in schools and producing renewable energy via our Nethermills Hydro Scheme on the River Ayr, which is generating green electricity for the nearby Ayrshire College.

We offer rewarding careers where your efforts directly impact people’s lives and contribute to tackling the climate change emergency.
