JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive Procurement service in accordance with Council policies, relevant legislation and defined levels of service as agreed with the Service Lead -Procurement.
Liaise with other officers in Procurement to ensure an integrated approach in the delivery and development of Procurement services.
Under the direction of a Co-ordinator, provide specialist Procurement services
Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, performance standards, council policies/procedures and corporate governance in line with organisational values
Support the Authority’s response to change in the external and internal environment taking consideration of rigorous analysis, political awareness and cultural sensitivity
Contribute to service improvement at a Directorate and Service level and contribute to Council wide improvement initiatives
To provide a range of procurement services such as, research services, delivery of in-house training and provide a professional advisory service regarding procurement practices
Assist in monitoring and evaluating policy and procedural effectiveness and performance against agreed plans and objectives. Undertake management reporting, and statistical analysis as a measure of contract compliance
Monitor the internal and external environment and liaise as necessary with regulatory and advisory agencies to manage appropriate information flows as well as ensuring compliance with relevant professional standards, mandatory requirements, and national agreements
Maintain professional knowledge and continued personal professional development
Prepare reports and service-related documentation as required and represent the procurement team at meetings as directed
