Job Description

What is the role?

To be responsible for leadership and management of locality and partnership wide functions of the Health and Social Care Service in order to promote and integrate Performance Improvement and Business Support activities designed to support the achievement of the Council’s and NHS Ayrshire and Arrans key objectives specifically in relation to Community Planning, Shared commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value.

To provide excellent leadership and clear direction to Health and Social Work Services and to lead on specific areas of operation, strategy and development of services to meet the changing demands which delivers customer focused outcomes for adults within South Ayrshire. To be an ambassador for the Service and the HSCP by sharing and celebrating areas of good practice locally and nationally.

  • Staff group of 150 headcount, 130 FTE

Extra Information:

If employed by South Ayrshire Council, the Grade of this post is Grade 4 / Level 14; the hourly rate is from £31.24 to £33.14 and the annual salary is from £57,013 to £60,480.

If employed by the NHS, this will be a full-time permanent position with an annual salary from £67,285 to £71,978 based on a 37-hour working week.

It is our expectation that any existing Local Authority employees will remain on their terms and conditions of employment should they be successful with their application. The same applies to NHS candidates who we would expect to remain under Agenda for Change Terms and conditions.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.

Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
