Job Description

What is the role?

To promote and protect the welfare of vulnerable people by comprehensively assessing individual need, taking into consideration internal and external influences. Through use of professional judgement and analysis of collated information, identify goals, the focus of any intervention, objectives and appropriate resources. Monitor, evaluate and adapt care plans to suit changing service user needs and effectively communicate with all relevant parties. To promote social inclusion, work sensitively with diversity and in an anti-discriminatory way.

The remit of this post will require working with vulnerable young people, throughcare and aftercare and youth justice services. The post holder will work in a busy and dynamic team undertaking programmed and individual work. You will work within a multi-agency setting with a range of relevant partners. Key tasks of this role include undertaking a range of statutory interventions, participate in duty, provide high quality reports, assessments and recordings. Relevant training to the post will be provided. The post holder will carry out these tasks within the framework of relevant legislation, Council Policy and procedures.

The Grade of this post is Grade 3 / Level 10; the hourly rate is from £23.07 to £24.26 and the annual salary is from £42,103 to £44,274.

Applicants whose qualification award is pending within the next 6 months, are welcome to apply. If you are recommended for the post the initial placement will be at Level 8, until your Qualification is awarded.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with protected children as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update if already a Scheme Member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
