JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a teacher to lead and deliver outdoor learning and wider achievement opportunities within our Supported Learning Centre. The successful candidate will further develop our outdoor curriculum and deliver classes to pupils from the SLC and the whole school. Organising, planning, and delivering our outdoor classes. The successful candidate will work with groups/classes of pupils from S1-S6 delivering BGE Curriculum and National qualifications, such as, Rural Skills, outdoor science curriculum, forest school and wider achievement opportunities such as Duke of Edinburgh, cycling proficiency and John Muir Awards.

Our young people have thrived with the addition of outdoor learning with the typical impacts being improved educational achievement, personal and social development, health and wellbeing, nature connection and practical skills development

The successful candidate must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and can be primary or secondary qualified.

REQUIREMENTS

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
