JOB DESCRIPTION

Facilities Management are looking for a forward-thinking individual who isn't afraid of a challenge to learn the ropes of our Food, Safety & Compliance Officer (FSCO) role. As a trainee FSCO, you will learn the ins and outs of our nutritional management software, become well versed in the world of catering in educational settings, learn how to handle our specific and medical diet applications including inputting on service redesign and looking at how we could improve the current solution, and have a key role in keeping the estate catering services safe.

You will be passionate about food and food operations, keen to learn, with a willingness to undertake training courses to bring you up to the qualifications required to meet the FSCO job requirements which include the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Diploma in Advanced Food Hygiene, and a Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) Level 3 & 4 qualification in Nutrition for Health.

Once you complete the two year training programme, you will be ideally placed to progress into the FSCO role and become the point person on Food, Safety & Compliance across our estate which currently includes 50 schools (comprising of 40 primaries, 8 academies and 2 dedicated ASN facilities), Early Years Centres and two Homes for the Elderly (HFEs).
