Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a dynamic Landscape Development Team focusing on allotment and food growing provision contributing to the management of seven existing allotment sites, partnership working with Allotment Associations and developing new sites to meet Scottish Government targets. The post holder will manage event applications in partnership with Grounds Officers and undertake asset change reviews.
The post holder will support landscape design colleagues to deliver a wide range of landscape improvement projects including cemetery infrastructure projects, park developments, play facilities and Greenspace projects assisting in site surveys, public consultation and inspection of works.
The postholder will be responsible for carrying out allotment inspections, managing the waiting list and plot allocations, non-compliance issues, lease terminations, overseeing annual payments, working with the team to deliver new allotment sites to meet increasing demand and contribute to the delivery of a Food Growing Strategy.
Applicants must be familiar with the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 and how this relates to allotment provision and must also have a working knowledge of Word and Excel IT packages. You should possess comprehensive customer care experience, good communication skills and be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of horticulture and be able provide a range of advice and training to users on food growing and weed control.
