Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Assistant Engineering Officer/Bridge Inspector to join our Structures team.
The successful applicant will join a team which is responsible for maintaining the Council's roads structures asset. The post will involve the inspection of bridges, culverts, underpasses and retaining walls in both rural and urban environments.
In addition, you will assist Engineering Officers in undertaking inspection of complex structures and in the supervision of structural repair and maintenance operations.
You should also demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the different structural forms associated with roads infrastructure, be able to identify bridge defects and have an appreciation of more common bridge repair techniques.
You must be capable of working under pressure to meet specific deadlines and directions, while contributing effectively as part of a specialist team.
A full, current driving licence is essential, as the role requires travel across the Council area to both rural and urban locations, working in both reactive and planned maintenance environments.
