The Quality Improvement Officer will be required to take forward the strategic objectives within Education Resources. 

As a Quality Improvement Officer within Education Resources, you will have responsibility to:

Maintain effective links with appropriate agencies both within and out with the Council as appropriate. Respond to enquiries from elected members and to contribute to the support of the Education Resources Committee and other appropriate bodies of the Council.

To develop, extend and implement strategic priorities related to the National Improvement Framework.

Lead a strategic remit aligned to the National Improvement Framework.

Lead stakeholder groups aligned to strategic remit.

Develop strategy to improve outcomes for learners as outlined in South Lanarkshire Council’s strategy on a page.

Identify and share good practice.

Lead research and training in line with strategic remit.

Maintain and develop links with other partners such as Education Scotland.

To develop and facilitate networks of support and challenge amongst staff.

Advise, Quality Improvement Manager and Head of Education on matters relating to strategic remit.

Empower schools to undertake work related to strategic remit.

Support schools with universal and targeted approaches to strategic remit.

Provide expert advice to the Executive Director, Heads of Education and council officers on education related issues.

You must have the ability to inspire others, be adaptable and work well in a challenging and demanding environment with a number of stakeholders. You should be solution focused, with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Suitable candidates for this exciting role will demonstrate experience and understanding of the key challenges facing Education Resources. You should also have:

 - a proven track record of leading and managing within an education establishment.

 - knowledge and understanding and led and delivered on school improvement.

 - be able to demonstrate leading and managing people to successful outcomes.

 - an understanding of a range of school related data and how this may influence improvement.

 - the ability to take forward priorities identified by the Scottish Government and a Local Authority, for example the National Improvement Framework. And have a knowledge and understanding of any relevant legislative requirements.
