An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Council’s Learning and Development Service. We are looking to recruit a part time Staff Development Officer to lead on identifying and meeting the learning & development needs of staff within Social Work Resources.
The successful candidate will work closely with Learning and Development colleagues to support the learning needs of Care at Home and wider Social Care employees within Social Work Services, including Social Work Assistants and front-line managers. While the role is primarily aligned to Care at Home services, applicants must also demonstrate relevant experience within a social work context.
We are seeking an experienced practitioner with a strong understanding of both Care at Home services and Social Work Resource functions. This includes the ability to support practice related to the identification, analysis and management of risk. The successful applicant will be committed to ensuring colleagues have access to high-quality learning and development opportunities that enable them to perform effectively in their roles.

At a minimum applicants should have the following:
• Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, or other recognised Social Work Qualification
• Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council
• Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience
• Experience of supporting the learning & development of others
• Willingness to develop skill and competence in delivery of learning & development
• PVG clearance for regulated work will be required prior to commencement
