An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Area Repairs Manager within Property Services to manage the housing repairs service for dedicated geographical areas.

The successful applicant will have the responsibility for managing and leading a large diverse team of staff and craft operatives and will be responsible for a wide range of workstreams and support services including:

• External repairs

• Internal emergency repairs and repairs by appointment

• A programme of planned maintenance repairs

• The Councils 24 hr emergency repairs service

• Workshop located at Hamilton & Clydesdale Business Unit

• New Build repairs

• Sheltered Housing repairs.

• Fire Damage Works (Under 10k)

• Dampness Team

The successful post holder should demonstrate experience of planning and efficient use of resources, budget management, and the ability to deliver tasks on time and in budget is essential for this post.

You should demonstrate a commitment to the principles of customer care, while displaying excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate previous experience of working within a housing maintenance environment whilst working to targets and pre-determined timescales.

A strong awareness of health and safety in the workplace is essential for this post. An integral part of this role is to develop, monitor and review performance indicators and reports. It is therefore essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate competent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience of E-Consol and Bi Query for reporting and monitoring is advantageous but not essential.
