Job Description

That’s what we do, and we are looking for a Head of Personnel Services who can motivate and inspire our workforce to continue to deliver leading edge services.
This is a key role within our high performing and aspirational organisation, with responsibility for ensuring our employees are engaged, supported and committed to making South Lanarkshire Council the best in Scotland. This requires a driven individual who understands the values of strong leadership, compassion and empowerment. You will be responsible for all employee-related strategy and policy, including workforce planning, organisational development and health, safety and wellbeing.
You should have a proven track record of leading people management. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage with Executive Directors, Elected Members and our Trade Unions.
You should be able to demonstrate substantial HR experience at a senior management level within a Public Sector environment.
You should be educated to degree level and hold Chartered Membership of CIPD or equivalent.
