Are you searching for a position with purpose? A role to make a real difference? Where your time can be transformational? The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is a business support initiative supported by Scottish Government, Scottish Local authorities, and other public bodies.
SDP strives to raise visibility of contract opportunities that will support economic recovery, making it easier for local businesses to bid for and win contracts and maximising support for critical local supply chain development and resilience. SDP promote and deliver market-friendly approaches to encourage supplier engagement, explaining the procurement process ensuring that local businesses, including the Third Sector, are aware of opportunities and more able to respond. This is a Free service to Scottish SMEs, Third sector and supported businesses.
The SDP team works to increase engagement with, and knowledge of the SDP award-winning tender training programme across new and existing audiences and stakeholders. The Marketing and Events Development Officer role will work with the SDP Programme Manager, the marketing and events assistant and the wider team by developing and delivering marketing and social media campaigns to promote our range of services and events across Scotland, and raising awareness of the impact of SDP in relation to key Government policies, such as Community Wealth Building. You will be responsible for developing and implementing communications for internal and external audiences, including, businesses and social enterprises, member organisations and partners including Scottish Government and ministers, stakeholders, and media. This role also leads on the development and delivery of SDP events, these include local, regional, and large scale Meet the Buyer events, as well as bespoke Meet the Contractor type events.
This is a fast-paced role and would suit someone who can work independently and who is driven and confident with strong member/stakeholder engagement skills, to robustly market and co-ordinate use of the SDP programme with our member organisations and to support project delivery. The role is supported by a marketing and events assistant and demands a solid understanding of marketing principles, creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of current marketing trends and a professional approach to process, deadlines and internal communications. The Marketing and Events Officer is required to produce fast and accurate work, undertaken with a keen eye for detail, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, confident, creative, and approachable marketer with demonstrable experience of developing and delivering fully integrated marketing campaigns and delivery of events in a fast-paced environment. Experience in working with the Scottish public sector is highly desirable as is a passion for detail and the ability to complete projects on time, to a high standard.
