About the School:

The school serves the areas of Cathkin and Fernhill and is housed in a building opened in 2006 with 2- 5 years nursery provision, an Additional Support Needs (ASN) department with 5 classes as well as 8 mainstream primary classes. The school is non- denominational and co-educational.

Presently, we have six classes with places being allocated by the SLC ASN Forum process (increasing to seven - session 2023 - 2024) supporting children with a range of additional support needs.

The vision for Cathkin Primary School and Nursery Class is a school where parents want to send their children, pupils want to learn and where teachers wish to teach.
We want to ensure that Cathkin:

The Depute Head Teacher is required to:

• Assist the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school as part of a Management Team.

• Deputise for the Head Teacher in his absence and have responsibility for the leadership, good management and strategic direction of colleagues.

GTC Registration

It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.
