The Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Resources is a key role in our organisation responsible for leading the Council’s financial arrangements, together with the responsibility for the application of a corporate approach to the development and implementation of Council policies and strategic initiatives, to ensure an integrated approach to the management of the Council’s affairs.
The post has a responsibility for wide portfolio of services: Administration, Corporate Communications and Public Relations, Finance, IT, Legal, Personnel and Procurement. As well as this the postholder has responsibility for the administration of Council financial affairs, as the designated Section 95 Officer (Local Government (Scotland) Act 1989).
The Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Resources is a key role within the Corporate Management Team and reports directly to the Chief Executive. This involves working across all levels of the organisation, as well as partner organisations and Elected Members.
We are looking for someone who is a proven leader with excellent strategic, operational and financial skills across complex public sector organisation.
You must hold a professional financial or accountancy qualification or equivalent and be a member of a recognised accountancy body.
This post has been politically restricted in terms of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
The Executive Director (Finance and Corporate Resources) is designated as the Council's Proper Officer in terms of Section 95 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as having responsibility for the administration of its financial affairs.
