Economic Development Project Manager

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Project Manager to join our Economic Development Team to help drive positive change within South Lanarkshire. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of towns across South Lanarkshire, working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver regeneration across the Council and within our communities.

Supporting the economy through the work of the economic development service is a key Council priority. Major projects including the delivery of town centre masterplans, city deal infrastructure projects, inward investment and working closely with all our communities are key to this success. The council are working to deliver transformational change in partnership with groups and organisations to achieve our common goals on behalf of communities.

The work of our economic development service across all our towns and communities is extensive and continuing to grow in reaction to the many challenges faced in the economy. Based within Community and Enterprise Resources, with a Council wide influence, the opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking Project Manager to help set and maintain our strategic direction within this agenda, alongside leading a small team of experienced and dedicated economic development professionals.

Responsibilities

Support the Head of Enterprise and Sustainable Development and the Economic Development Manager in providing the strategic direction in relation to the delivery of town centre strategies and action plans working with key stakeholders to improve Places across South Lanarkshire.

Support the Head of Enterprise and Sustainable Development and the Economic Development Manager with Preparation and delivery of Town Centre Masterplans for East Kilbride and Hamilton.

To lead Council negotiations with private and public sector organisations in relation to joint venture and other public / private partnerships.

To lead in the design, development, management of specific economic development programmes projects and service level agreements, ensure that these are developed and implemented appropriately, and that elected members, partners and Council officials are advised of progress and performance as required.

To lead in managing resources (particularly relating to staff and budgets) in a range of economic development related programmes and initiatives.
