Requirements

We are looking to recruit an SDS Finance Assistant to support the finance function within Social Work localities and the promotion, set-up, monitoring and reviewing of all approved Direct Payments paid out by the partnership.
This will include advice and support on direct payment budgets to partnership staff and direct payment recipients. The overall aim is to ensure that recipients are good employers and manage their direct payments. Through Direct Payments, supported persons and carers will be assisted to exercise full choice and control, to encourage independence by being empowered to become as fully self-supporting as possible. An excellent communicator that is adept to managing deadlines.
You will also have excellent finance, analytical, organisational, systems and interpersonal skills. You will be confident, credible, proactive and creative when driving quality improvement and good practice. You will be working in a team which will call upon you to respond quickly to changing priorities and will also be a trusted team member in often highly confidential and sensitive matters.
You should have previous experience of dealing with the public and managing your own workload without supervision. Ideally, you will have an understanding of the health and social sector, particularly in relation to self-directed support and direct payments.
