Requirements

South Lanarkshire Health & Social Care Partnership are looking to recruit an experienced Social Worker for an exciting opportunity to work within the Community Addiction Recovery Services (CAReS) in Clydesdale Local Office. CAReS are an integrated multi-disciplinary service, bringing together Social Workers, Substance Misuse Workers, Nurses and Occupational Therapists together to work with, and support the recovery of, people who use substances.

You will work as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team, assisting individuals on their journey of recovery. You will provide an effective assessment and case management service incorporating statutory duties. You will assess the needs of service users and their families and deliver appropriate evidence based interventions to support those needs. You will ensure that public protection thresholds are assessed and work specifically with child or adult protection cases within the CAReS team. Additionally, you should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to complete all formal and informal reports, and case notes, all of which need to be of a high standard. You should be able to deal with a variety of situations where your tact, patience and understanding will be needed, and you will cope with these situations in a sensitive and non-judgmental way. You will be committed to working closely with the CAReS Team Leader and contribute to the integration of NHS Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire Council’s alcohol and drug services.

The successful candidate must hold a degree level qualification in Social Work and be registered with an appropriate professional body.

Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.
