The aim of Social Work Resources is to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people in South Lanarkshire.

In partnership with community planning partners, voluntary and independent provider organisations, we offer a range of services designed to enable, support, improve and protect the health and social care of people using our services.

The successful applicant will have experience in caring for older people, preferably within a residential setting and be familiar with all aspects of personal care. You will be able to construct a person centred support plan, implement, review and evaluate its effectiveness for the service users for whom you have responsibility. You will contribute to the assessment and review process and administer medicines as prescribed. Shift and weekend working is essential.

The successful candidate is required to hold a SVQ Level 3 in Social Care or a HNC or be willing to work towards these qualifications.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the Organisation.

South Lanarkshire Council will provide all required job relevant training including induction and ongoing learning and development.

    • Describe the differing needs, how you supported these, and how you made the decision in terms of prioritisation
    • Social care workers are responsible for administering prescribed medication to individual service users in line with all relevant policies and procedures, local and national. 

    • Administration can include verbal prompts and guidance to take medication to physically assisting and /or guiding an individual to take medication. 
    • Tell us about your knowledge/training of medication guidance? 
    • What factors do you consider when completing a risk assessment and how do you ensure the care plan clearly reflects the actions required to keep the service users safe?
