We are seeking a Self-Directed Support (SDS) Finance Assistant to play a key role in the promotion, set-up, monitoring, and review of all approved Direct Payments made by the partnership. This position will involve providing advice and guidance to Social Work practitioners and Direct Payment recipients, ensuring effective management of Self-directed Support and Direct Payment budgets.
The overarching aim is to empower supported persons and carers to exercise full choice and control over their care. Through Direct Payments, recipients will be encouraged to become confident employers and independent managers of their support, fostering greater autonomy and self-sufficiency.
We are looking for someone who is an excellent communicator, able to manage deadlines with confidence and clarity. You will also be skilled in finance, analysis, organisation, systems, and interpersonal relations. You will be proactive, credible, and creative, with a strong drive for quality improvement and best practice.
You must be adaptable to changing priorities, while remaining a trusted and reliable team member in handling highly confidential and sensitive matters. You should have previous experience of working directly with the public and capable of managing your own workload independently.
An understanding of the health and social care sector, particularly in relation to Self-Directed Support and Direct Payments, is desirable.
You will also be required to support Social Work localities across the resource with SDS Support Planning and all finance related functions, aligned with the operational needs of the service.
