We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our Care at Home Team, with posts available throughout South Lanarkshire.
Positions are currently available in three service areas:
- Home First
- Care at Home
- Alert

A number of opportunities exist for people wishing to work in this exciting, challenging and rewarding environment. We are looking for people of all ages, male and female to join the Care at Home Service.
The Grade for these posts is Grade 2 level 3 - £17.04 to £17.51 per hour. As this is a shift working post, you will receive an additional 1 or 2 increment (depending on your shift pattern) and this will be consolidated into your salary. This role will require flexible evening and weekend working. For all shifts, the morning shift can start between 7am and 8am, and backshift can end between 9pm and 11pm.
Home Carer (Home First) – You will work with service users using reablement and rehabilitation approaches, for a period of up to 6 weeks, and support them to attain or regain skills and abilities and help them to achieve as much independence as they can in their own homes. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Community Nurses and Social Care professionals with the aim of supporting, motivating and inspiring people to re-learn daily skills and enhance their quality of life. This may be required following a period in hospital or to prevent admission to hospital.
Home Carer (Care at Home) – You will work with service users to enable them to remain living within their own home, to achieve their goals with as much independence as they can by assessing, identifying and mitigating risks. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Community Nurses and Social Care professionals.
Home Carer (Alert) – You will provide an emergency response service to service users who require support following the activation of technology that is located within their homes. The service uses Technology Enabled Care equipment to support people living at home, and you should have an interest and understanding of technology and its use. The role involves the use of TEC equipment and responding to calls and dealing with intimate personal care tasks.

Requirements
South Lanarkshire Council will provide and fund all required training including onboarding and ongoing learning and development. You must have SVQ Level 2 in Social Care, or equivalent, to fully meet SSSC registration requirements of the post. You must provide proof of your qualifications when applying for this post as part of your application. If you do not include your qualification, the hiring manager will contact you to obtain this. If this is not received by mid day on 13th November then unfortunately we will be unable to progress your application.

You will be required to demonstrate your ability to work at SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care as a minimum standard and be willing to work towards achieving this qualification if you do not already hold this qualification/equivalent or greater.
You will be required to work in accordance with a roster which includes days, evenings, weekends, and will be required to work a shift pattern. Additional increments for working unsocial hours will also apply.
You will be provided with your work uniform and personal protective equipment, which includes an electronic hand-held device (mobile telephone) which you will use to undertake the role safely and effectively.
