Location: Rutherglen Town Hall, 139 Main Street, Rutherglen
Hours: 35 per week (average hours)
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 - will include evening, weekends and public holidays
Duration: Permanent
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the Technical operation within Rutherglen Town Hall and to assist in the management of performances and events.
The successful candidate must have previous experience of working within a technical department in particular theatrical/performance venues. This includes setting up and operating technical equipment, supervising staff, undertaking technical maintenance and housekeeping and all aspects of stage management and production, including audio visual, set and light production.
Knowledge and experience in theatrical operations or professional qualifications in theatrical environment at HNC or above (e.g. electrical and pyrotechnics, working at height, set design) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities
Ensure casual staff and all theatre users adhere to Health and Safety regulations
Oversee the installation and operation of technical equipment by user groups, taking any action necessary to ensure user and public safety.
Co-ordinate and / or carry out design, installation and operation of technical equipment for temporary performances or presentations.
Supervise technical assistants, volunteer stage crew and casual theatre assistants
Develop and co-ordinate a care and maintenance programme for all technical equipment
Supervise the Assistant Technicians, undertake PDR and arrange training.
Design the performance lighting for shows and other activities and ensure that the lighting, sound and staging requirements previously agreed are set up prior to, operated during and reinstated after performances/events.
Set up and operate theatre, technical and other venue equipment to ensure the highest possible standard of presentation
Operate a computerised booking system for technical equipment
Undertake first line repair and maintenance of technical equipment.
Provide professional advice to other departments.
Collate management information and supply to the Venue Manager and other colleagues as directed.
Monitor budget and ensure compliance with Service objectives.
Contribute to the production of literature, publicity material, leaflets, booklets and educational material as appropriate
