A vacancy has arisen within our Income Management & Housing Support Team for a Housing Assistant. The postholder will work as part of a team with limited support and guidance offering an excellent customer service to tenants. You will ensure that customer records are updated and maintained in line with the Council's policies and procedures and you will work closely with Housing Officers and other members of the team.

You should be confident dealing with people from all walks of life including customers who may lead chaotic lifestyles for a variety of reasons. Duties include responding to requests from tenants regarding their rent accounts and tenancies, and the provision of support and assistance to vulnerable tenants in order that tenancies can be sustained. Attending forced entries at some of our tenancies is also a requirement of the post and you should be flexible with working times to accommodate this.

The postholder will feel comfortable working in a fast paced environment, have excellent communication skills and good organisational skills in order to manage workload. If you think you have the skills and can-do approach for this post, then we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for Adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.

If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age (restrictions apply to Modern Apprenticeships), disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
