Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute Valuation Joint Board is an independent local government body. We compile and maintain the Valuation Rolls, Council Tax Valuation Lists and Registers of Electors for the Argyll & Bute, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire Council areas. The Board employs approximately 50 people across our office locations in Clydebank & Campbeltown.

We are seeking candidates with a qualification in a relevant property related discipline (Construction Management, Surveying Practice etc).

The successful candidate would be expected to survey, measure and propose valuations of lands and heritages for the purposes of the Lands Valuation Acts and the Local Government Finance Act 1992. You would be responsible for the discussion and negotiation of straight forward proposals and appeals with council taxpayers, and thereafter preparing productions for cases proceeding to appeal hearings.

Applicants must be computer literate and should have excellent communication/negotiation and team working skills. You will have a positive, professional, and responsible attitude, coupled with the ability to multi-task, while ensuring strict deadlines are achieved. You will have the ability to work as part of a team or individually, and be expected to guide and mentor trainees as required.

Consideration will also be given to trainee technicians (salary placement will depend on qualification and experience) who will work toward attaining a relevant property based qualification. Entry requirements vary and are shown in the Job Profiles.

A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes is essential for this role.

Benefits include working for an equal opportunities employer, membership of an attractive Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions, a wide range of family friendly and flexible working policies, and up to 31 days annual leave and 12 days public holidays per year.
