Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time accountant’s position within the West Dunbartonshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Finance Team. You will assist and support the Chief Financial Officer, under the direction of the HSCP Finance Manager, in developing an effective Finance Service that supports the strategic objectives of the Health and Social Care Partnership Board. The HSCP is an established innovative partnership, responsible for delivering all primary care, local community health and social care services to the population of West Dunbartonshire in an integrated way with a total budget of c£198m.

Working as an integral member of the HSCP Finance Team you will support the Social Care Services portfolio under the guidance of the HSCP Finance Manager. You will contribute to the overall performance of the team in a role which provides high quality financial management information and accounting and business planning input and advice.

In addition to considerable experience of budget setting, budget monitoring, financial planning, and final accounts preparation it is desirable that you can demonstrate an understanding of the complexities and diversity of health and social care services and integration joint boards, public sector finance and financial ledger systems. You will be required to adapt and prioritise your workload based on changing circumstances, whilst maintaining timescales and meeting deadlines.

The Finance Team work on a hybrid blended model of both office based and home working.

This is a very exciting time to join the team as the HSCP is currently undergoing several service redesign programmes. You will assist with the delivery of a transformational management service including the development of new systems and new ways of working to streamline transactional processes and demonstrate best value
