Job Description

An exciting opportunity have arisen for the post of a Day Care Assistant within Queens Quay Day Services based in Clydebank. This is a permanent post for 35 hours per week working 5 days over 7 including evenings and weekends. This role is to support clients to live an individual lifestyle while promoting choice, dignity, privacy and independence in accordance with person centred care plans. You will assist with personal hygiene and maintaining appearance including bathing/showering, eating, drinking, oral care and continence. You will carry out opportunities for the clients to engage with the local and wider community in ways that promote social inclusion of clients, including working with clients within their own home and within local community groups. You will also contribute to the planning of meaningful activities and to assist clients to participate in these.

 

 

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults and/or Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found Here..

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

The successful candidate should hold SVQ2 in care or equivalent qualification and relevant experience in a residential, nursing or day care setting.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
