Job Description

This is an externally funded post and a fixed term role until February 2027.

West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to recruit an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Heritage Project Worker. The successful candidate will work closely with Arts & Heritage colleagues to focus on raising the profile of West Dunbartonshire’s rich arts and heritage offer.

The postholder will be based in Clydebank Museum, opening later this year, and will be responsible for the delivery of an innovative programme which will actively engage both residents and visitors in events and activities that explore the stories of Clydebank and West Dunbartonshire.

This is an exciting and varied role and the successful candidate will be directly involved in encouraging visitors to the new museum, making and maintaining close relationships with local groups and organisations, running events and activities and supporting volunteers in the space.

Success in this role will require experience of engaging communities in heritage, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a capacity for building and maintaining stakeholder and partner relationships, underpinned by a demonstrable and genuine interest in the history and heritage of the local area.

The successful candidate will join the team at a pivotal time, working towards a newly agreed Arts and Heritage strategy that reflects the ambition of West Dunbartonshire Council to deliver for its residents.
