Job Description
West Dunbartonshire Council is continuing to invest in strengthening our cyber security posture and is looking to recruit an ICT Security Officer (Compliance) to join our high‑performing ICT service!
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about ICT security, keen to develop their skills through industry‑standard training and motivated by making a real difference in protecting public sector data, employees, and citizens.
About the Role
The ICT Security Officer – Compliance plays a key role in developing, promoting, and embedding the Council’s information security culture, policies, and procedures, in line with recognised national standards and guidance.
You will:
Provide specialist information security and cyber risk advice to employees, elected members, and third‑party suppliers
Ensure compliance with the Council’s core information security principles
Coordinate security communications, reviews, risk assessments, and policy development
Help identify and mitigate risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Council information assets
Act as the Council’s primary point of contact for information security and cyber risk matters
Deliver internal consultancy support across all Council services

Working Arrangements
This role operates on an 80/20 remote‑to‑onsite basis, with one day per week onsite.
Requirements
The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Level 2 Disclosure check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
