Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Insurance team for 12 hours per week.
Options for working pattern are:
Wednesday to Friday - 4 hours per day (hours between 9am and 4:30pm)
Thursday & Friday - 6 hours per day (hours between 9am and 4:30pm)
As a key member of the Insurance Team, the Insurance Assistant will assist the Commercial Disposal Officer and Insurance Officer in the provision of an efficient and effective service in relation to the Council’s Insurance Portfolio.
The Insurance Officer will assist in the renewal/re-tendering of all the insurance contracts i.e. main insurance (property, motor vehicle, combined liability, miscellaneous risks) for West Dunbartonshire Council, West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute Valuation Joint Board and Clydebank Property Company.
They will also be responsible for processing claims made by or against the Council as well as providing advise and guidance on insurance related matters to officers within the authority, Elected Members, partnership organisations and members of the public.
They will be required to maintain a computerised filing and record systems, and provide management information as required, therefore applicants should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have excellent organisational and communication skills.
