Are you a strategic leader with a passion for public service and democratic engagement? We’re looking for an exceptional individual to join our Regulatory and Regeneration Services Management Team as Manager of Democratic and Registration Services.

In this high-profile role, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio of critical services including:
• Elections and Electoral Management
• Committee and Members’ Services
• Leadership Support
• Community Council Support
• Town Twinning Initiatives
• Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages

You’ll be at the heart of civic life, shaping services that directly impact our communities and elected representatives.

What We’re Looking For:
We need a confident, forward-thinking leader with:
• A graduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• A proven track record of managing council services and delivering results
• Expertise in election management, legislative implementation, budget oversight, and strategic planning
• Strong project management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a flair for stakeholder engagement
• Robust financial and legislative awareness, and the ability to lead under pressure

Requirements

The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Level 2 Disclosure check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

This post is politically restricted in accordance with the Local Government and Housing Act 1989. Accordingly, on accepting this appointment you will be disqualified from becoming or remaining a Member of a Local Authority, the Scottish Parliament, the European Parliament or from undertaking certain political activities as defined in the Regulations introduced from time to time by the Secretary of State for Scotland.
