Job Description
West Dunbartonshire Council are looking to recruit a Section Head for the Citizen and Regulatory legal team.

This post is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their own skills as a lawyer and as a leader, supporting a small team of professionals and specialists to deliver the Council’s licensing functions, support the Council’s education and social work services, provide advice and support directly to senior officers, Council and committees, and to work closely with colleagues across the Council to provide high quality public services and corporate functions.
The ideal candidate will bring experience of providing high quality legal advice to clients, preferably within the local government or public sectors, representing clients in a range of courts and tribunals, and working closely with elected members.
The post will require regular office-based working to support team management and development, as well as attendance at courts and meetings, but also allows for flexible and remote working in accordance with the Council’s policies.

The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Level 2 Disclosure check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
This post is politically restricted in accordance with the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
