Job Description
Due to the retirement of longstanding team member, West Dunbartonshire HSCP is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leaders to join our Children and Families Social Work Service.
Fostering, Adoption, Throughcare & Aftercare and Family Support Services**
This post is an opportunity to lead on the development and delivery of services provided locally to vulnerable and care experienced children and young people.
You will;
• Oversee Child Protection and Looked After Children care planning, ensuring safe and effective practice.
• Provide leadership and support to managers of our Registered Services and contribute to the development of these areas of Service ensuring adherence with Care Inspectorate Standards.
• Motivate and support both staff and registered carers to provide good quality care and protection to vulnerable children and young people to ensure that their needs are being met.
• Be an active member and participant in national implementation groups and forums as well as contribute to local development and improvement groups.
• Work in partnership with colleagues across both Children’s Services as well as the HSCP in supporting the overall delivery of services to local children and families.
• Champion family-based solutions, helping children remain safely within their families wherever possible.
The family support team includes; Family Group Decision Making, ATC (Intensive Family Support) and Support workers, it;
• Embraces reflective practice and continuous improvement.
• Can inspire and guide their team to deliver excellent services for children and families
• Provide leadership to senior social workers, family support manager, social workers and family support team members.

Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children/Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
