West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust – Sport & Physical Activity Team
West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust (WDLT) is seeking an ambitious and forward thinking Sport and Physical Activity Co-ordinator to lead the growth and strengthening of sports clubs, Community Sports Hubs and the sport and physical activity infrastructure across West Dunbartonshire.
This is a key development role focused on building a sustainable and high quality sporting system at a local level. You will work closely with clubs, communities and various partner organisations to create stronger pathways into sport, improve standards and ensure more people can participate, progress and stay involved in sport.
You will lead the development of sustainable, high quality sports clubs across West Dunbartonshire, providing ongoing support to strengthen governance, membership and delivery. This includes delivering Quality Club initiatives in partnership with governing bodies and supporting clubs to access funding, increase participation and enhance their impact within the community.
You will also develop, support and expand a network of Community Sports Hubs, leading collaboration between clubs, improving shared resources and ensuring the long term sustainability of hubs through effective planning and partnership working. Embedded into local communities, you will gain an understanding of their needs, empower local leaders and collectively improve participation in sport and physical activities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you need to be a motivated, experienced and knowledgeable individual with a passion for working with others to develop sport at a community level. You will have extensive experience in sports, club and workforce development, alongside a strong understanding of club structures, governance and inclusion principles. You need to possess strong leadership qualities and be able to demonstrate that you can effectively manage partnerships, co-ordinate projects and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. A flexible approach is essential, as evening and weekend work will be required.
This is a truly exciting opportunity for someone to shape the future of community sport in West Dunbartonshire by developing strong clubs, connected Community Sports Hubs and a skilled local workforce, helping to create lasting opportunities for participation across local communities.
