We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

St. Mary’s R.C. Primary School is a large denominational school serving the community of Bathgate.  The school roll is currently 315 pupils, arranged in 13 classes and a small group setting.  In addition to this there is a nursery class which opened in April 2021 and is housed in a separate building within the school’s grounds.

St. Mary’s Primary and Nursery Class has a very good reputation within the local community and enjoy strong links with a number of local organisations and businesses. These partnerships strengthen our collaborative working and capacity for improvement.  There is a strong, collaborative, nurturing and inclusive ethos.  Staff work well together to develop an improvement plan which supports each and every learner as an individual.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual to join our support team to support learning and teaching as an Advanced Pupil Support Worker.  Under the teacher’s direction they will work within the learning environment to support pupil learning, organise resources and carry out duties relating to pupil pastoral support.  They will promote an ethos of achievement through the development of positive relationships and will have due regard for the health and safety of the young people they are working with.
