An opportunity has arisen for an Approved Street Lighting Electrician to join our team in delivering a high-quality service within West Lothian Council Roads Lighting.
We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who has knowledge and experience in the inspection and maintenance of streel lighting and associated apparatus.
You will participate in a range of works including general maintenance, repairs, improvements and testing to street lighting systems / roads electrical equipment, in accordance with current requirements and regulations for electrical installations. You will also participate in the maintenance and improvement of road signage.

The candidate will need to have good verbal and written communication skills as you will be working with members of the public / 3rd party organisations and as part of a multidisciplinary team with customers.
You will need to be proficient with digital technology as it is used daily as part of the role. You will assist with the operation of an Asset Management System with a view to ensuring we maintain our street lighting assets in line with current industry codes of practice.
It is expected that you will be suitably educated to Approved Electrician (with current grade card) / SVQ / NVQ level 3 in Highway Electrical Systems. You will be predominantly working outside at height and will need to have an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service. You will also be required to take part in “out of hours” standby rota. A current driving licence is required.
The Candidate would require to work a shift pattern which includes alternate Saturdays for which a 7.5% shift allowance is payable.
