Fleet Services are currently recruiting a Fleet Asset and Compliance Support Officer post to cover maternity leave on a fixed term 12-month contract. This is an exciting role and will form part of the Fleet Asset and Compliance Support team, supporting workshop operations, Operator Licence compliance and contributing to an exciting service redesign programme.

The role will be based at Whitehill Service Centre in Bathgate and will be predominantly office based with the possibility of some home working. You will work 36 hours over the council’s standard working week.

The key duties of this post are:

  • Provision of administrative support to frontline workshop operations in a busy fleet reception environment
  • Cover all aspects of data input, collection, collation, analysis and reporting within Fleet Services
  • Provision of fleet asset and driver information in relation to Operator Licence compliance
  • Administration of fleet management systems such as the asset and job management system, driver compliance system, vehicle tracking system and other internal management control systems
  • Day to day management of vehicle acquisitions and disposals, including externally hired vehicles
  • Liaise with internal and external customers, stakeholders and suppliers

If you have the following skills we would love to hear from you:

  • Excellent I.T. skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written, oral and electronic formats
  • Knowledge of vehicle/driver legislation and codes of practice
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience of working in a team environment
  • Understanding of regulations and requirements in relation to fleet management and vehicle use
