We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Transformation Lead to help drive the council’s Modernisation and Transformation agenda. As a key member of the Corporate Transformation Team, you will provide expert guidance and challenge across a portfolio of change activity enabling the organisation and individual service areas to move forward and deliver approved programmes of improvement, redesign, and digital transformation.
Reporting to the Corporate Transformation Manager, you will work closely with Heads of Service, Senior Managers, and internal and external partners to shape, refine, and support transformation proposals. You will bring strong programme management expertise, and a deep understanding of service design, change management, and business improvement, ensuring that change activity is well governed, evidence based and aligned to strategic priorities.
You will play a central role in embedding service design principles and building capability across the organisation. This includes supporting services in new ways of working, promoting innovative digital and technological approaches, and contributing to post‑implementation reviews to drive learning and sustainable improvement.
This is a role for someone who can influence, challenge and inspire, helping services turn ambition into well designed, well governed and achievable change.
Educated to degree level, you will be familiar with delivering complex projects within a challenging environment with strong programme/project management, service design or organisational change experience.
An excellent communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, you will be confident working with senior managers and other key stakeholders, with the ability to influence effectively. The postholder will also have demonstratable analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
